I was reluctant to switch to Win10 OneNote, but after using it, I much preferred the UI. Which is what we need, but I don't know how far away it is from being reality. Then last year they announced Win10 OneNote was getting the axe, and that the best of both worlds would be merged into the desktop version. They announced the 'desktop' version got the axe, then like a year or so later announced no, they were going to keep it alive. Unless this new version is about to drop, it feels like OneNote has mostly been coasting, as far as development. It seemed like 5-6 years ago, the team was making strides. I don't honestly know what has happened with the progression of OneNote the past couple years. Also, does anyone have any suggestions for apps that are better than one note? Now, why is it that a trillion-dollar company cant make it easier for users to download their own files? I am genuinely curious because after what I went through today I am literally never using the app again. I finally bring out my PC and neither the app nor the website allowed me to download my files.Īfter some research, I learned that the only way to actually download notebooks files is by downloading some old 2016 version. And for some god-forsaken reason on the app, they decided not to have a file button. When I would click on 'file', the website wouldn't even register that I clicked it on and nothing would happen.

So I literally had to pay for a 1-month subscription just to access the filesĭownloading notebooks wasn't even possible from my MacBook Pro. Now since the file I deleted was over 5GB's it would not allow me to reinsert it back into my one drive.

This was a big mistake because when I attempted to reopen the downloaded notebook to check if it worked, they would not open. After I downloaded all my files I deleted the folder containing all the notebooks.

Why does Microsoft make it so difficult and frustrating to export a notebook from one note? I ran out of storage a while ago and I can't believe how frustrating it was to get all my folders backed up to free up some storage.įirst I tried downloading the notebooks directly from one drive.
